lonely planet
- in most parts of the world, swedish cuisine is not really celebrated; in moscow, it is. much belowed of moscow expats, scandinavia offers an enticing interpretation of what happens "when sweden meets russia". a delightful summer cafe features sandwiches, salad and treats from the grill ( including best burgers in moscow, by some accounts). inside, the dining room offers a sophisticated menu of morden european delights.
- completely charming little place near pushkinskaya metro. clean lines, very spacious, brightly lit. the chef and qwner are swedish, and the food is excellent and quite authenic. we highly recommend the meatballs with lingonberries, or any fish on the menu, all of which are deliciously dressed. the outdoor patio in summer time ia a popular venue for expats from around the world-don't miss it!
rough guide
- a swedish restaurant that scours the world to deliver mouthwatering coconut soup with crayfish dumplings, tuna fillet with kamchatka crab risotto, T-bone steak and prawn-packed caesar salad (lunch from 450 R). its bar mixes the best cocotails in moscow, and the vodka bar made from ice on the patio is also a hit during their christmas and new year parties.
